Tiller brings Lemonade Day® to Calgary
About Lemonade Day®
Lemonade Day prepares youth (grades K-8th) for life through unique entrepreneurial and experiential programs infused with life skills, character development, financial and business literacy, career exploration, and mentorship. By starting their first business — a lemonade stand — kids gain the foundational skills to succeed in life and achieve their dreams.
Lemonade Day is a strategic lesson-based program that walks youth from a dream to a business plan while teaching them the same principles required to start any company. Inspiring kids to work hard and make a profit by running their stand, they learn the importance of earning, saving, spending, and sharing money wisely. This approach builds foundational skills, improves self-esteem, provides social-emotional learning, and plants the seed of innovation. These growth mindsets can propel youth into success, enable important life steps, and help ensure a lifetime of freedom from financial burdens as a result of preparing them to transition into what comes next in life.
Over its 15-year history, Lemonade Day has impacted nearly 1.5 million children and youth in over 90 communities throughout North America via the principle that entrepreneurs take risks and believe they can achieve their dreams if they work hard, be responsible, and act as good stewards of their resources. Today’s youth share that optimism but lack the life skills, mentorship, and work experience necessary to be successful. Together with our partners and investors, we inspire and empower youth through a life-changing entrepreneurial experience.

How Tiller is partnering with Lemonade Day®
We are excited to partner with Lemonade Day and bring the program to Calgary for the very first time on August 19, 2023. With support from local business sponsors, we will be facilitating a memorable and meaningful entrepreneurial experience for Calgary youth. Registration is free, and kids will receive access to a Lemonade Day app and be eligible for amazing prizes, including the Youth Entrepreneur of the Year award. Beyond a fun summer event, we believe Lemonade Day will equip and inspire Calgary’s next generation of entrepreneurs.
“I learned the basics of sales and profit margin on the golf course when I was 8 years old. My dad took my sister and I to the store and bought cans of soda. He taught us how to strategize and make a profit — 25 cents at a time. While seemingly insignificant at the time, these lessons I learned as a kid prepared me to launch Tiller at 19 years old. Years later, I’m still living my entrepreneurial dream! And I can’t think of a better way to give back than introducing the next generation to entrepreneurship and inspiring them to achieve their dreams too.”
