Account Manager

We are looking for an Account Manager who is a team player, strong communicator, and natural relationship builder. An Account Manager at Tiller is responsible for owning the client relationship for a defined set of clients totalling $1.5 to $1.85 million in revenue per year. Working in close collaboration with a Project Manager, you will help drive each client’s business forward by giving proactive advice and delivering the best client experience possible. As the Account Manager, you will be responsible for nurturing the client relationship, cultivating new opportunities to generate revenue and drive impact, and handling the majority of client communications. This dynamic position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think strategically, and offer solutions to problems with clear communication and a high level of professionalism.

  • Own the client relationship for a defined set of clients – you will be responsible for $1.5 to $1.85 million in revenue per year
  • Understand our different client types and tailor the client experience based on their needs
  • Work hard to build close, trusted relationships with clients and deliver a first class client experience
  • Stay current with your client’s business and seek to understand competitor business strategies, sector knowledge, trends, innovations, etc.
  • Keep clients up to date on any brand, web, or marketing trends or innovations that they may be able to leverage
  • Work closely with a Project Manager to deliver an exceptional client experience for each client – you will be focused on client communications, while the Project Manager will be focused on delivery (scheduling project team, managing project budget, etc.)
  • Clearly communicate client expectations internally to the team and communicate work back to the clients in a timely and effective manner
  • Organize regular review meetings with the client (e.g. weekly, monthly, quarterly and project-end reviews)
  • Work with a wider team (e.g. Copywriters, Designers, Developers, etc.) to proactively identify, create, and define new ideas for new projects that will drive their business forward
  • Build relationships across your clients’ organizations and identify opportunities for us to provide service to other teams or departments (e.g. product)
  • Keep an up to date Hubspot (CRM) database of new business opportunities – also use Hubspot to know more about clients’ personal and professional interests
  • Use surveys and systems like Net Promoter Score to drive client satisfaction
  • Partner with our New Business team to build early relationships with prospective clients and provide support on securing new clients
  • Generate new revenue with existing clients
  • Repitch our services to your clients every year, ensuring they are up to speed on any changes or improvements to our service, team, etc.
You may be fit for this role if you:
  • Have 3+ years of experience as an Account Manager in an agency
  • Have a BBA or related undergraduate degree
  • Have brand, web, or marketing experience in a previous role
  • Have very strong presentation skills and the ability to pitch ideas in a clear and compelling way
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excel at relationship building, have a high degree of emotional intelligence and empathy, can anticipate needs, and quickly build chemistry and trust
  • Possess strong leadership and people management skills – know how to get the right people in the room and match roles and personalities at all levels; know how to navigate people and de-risk situations
  • Are a strong ambassador for your team
  • Can quickly adapt to a variety of situations
  • Have a strategic mindset and can quickly identify potential paths forward
  • Have watched “The Office” tv show (we reference it often)
